“running has made being depressed impossible. If I’m going through something emotional and just go outside for a run, you can rest assured Ill come back with clarity.”

In 2009 Alanis has run two marathons, one of behalf of the Maasai Wilderness Conversation Trust with Edward Norton and the other representing the National Eating Disorders Association. The Grammy-winning singer has always been an athlete and used to swim seven days a week, but now running has become her fitness passion and it helps her both mentally and physically. She said,

“But I tie my laces, put on a tight bra and get out there like a little robot. The first 10 minutes are excruciating, but soon I get into the flow.”

Morisette also told the magazine that she tries to follow a healthy lifestyle, eats plenty of kale, but allows herself to indulge in red wine from time to time.

Good job on eating kale! Together with running there is nothing better for building strong bones.

I am a big fan of Alanis and am very inspired when she run for two marathons for charity. She's been an athlete and I hope I can also participate in some events in the future. Hope that other artists will get involved in this kind of sports.

Kale is oxalating, so how much kale does one need to eat on a daily basis to build "strong bones"?

Kale is a great source of calcium and a low to moderate oxalate veggie. In fact there is greater absorption of calcium from many plant sources including kale, than from milk.

Today, while I was at work, my cousin stole my apple ipad and tested to see if it can survive a 40 foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation. My apple ipad is now destroyed and she has 83 views. I know this is completely off topic but I had to share it with someone!

Dr.~ Only the weak are cruel. Gentleness can only be expected from the strong.
