Ali Fedotowsky’s Fitness Plan After Leg Injury

Former Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky had no choice but to stop and take things slow when she was injured from a fractured femur while kickboxing. She had to undergo surgery to repair the injury.

Right after the surgery, she began gaining weight because she was eating a lot and living an inactive lifestyle. So Ali decided to change her diet and modify her workout to fit in her current state.

What did Ali do?She began to stack her fridge with vegetables. She carried Ziploc baggies filled with celery, sugar snap peas or almonds wherever she goes. Once a week, she splurges on foods that she normally avoids. According to her, eating healthy isn’t about deprivation, it’s all about picking your battles.

As for exercise, Ali still can’t bend her leg more than 90 degrees so she finds ways to sneak fitness moves into her temporarily lounge-only lifestyle. For her upper body workout, she uses dumbbell weights and a medicine ball. For a toned core, she squeezes her abs.
Ali gave out an advice to those who are injured but still want to keep fit.
“It’s going to be so easy to sit there and eat all the comfort foods that you want to eat and do nothing but don’t even let yourself get there. If you work hard at it right now during an injury, later you will be so much happier and better off. And join book a club to keep your mind busy so your stomach’s not.”

That's so right on the money. After an injury you absolutely have to get started with rehab as soon as you can. Too many people just sit around waiting to be totally 'healed' before getting off their butt. Proper exercise is extremely important to recovering from an injury, actually helping you recover in the process.

Weight loss is a simple equation: burn more calories than you ingest or eat 30% less calories consistently and i guarantee you will loose weight. The big if is that not many people have the discipline to do that. Thanks for sharing such valuable information.

To lose weight you need a lot of discipline and motivation to loss weight. For gain weight you also need motivation and discipline and that is the reason why I give someweight gain tips.

It is very hard to maintain discipline when you are injured and sitting around. Great advice about trying to eat healthy and carrying around healthy snacks. I have found that eating right requires some planning. We fail when we put ourselves in a position to just stop by a fast food place or restaurant. If we plan ahead we can avoid these splurges. It takes some thought and planning but is worth it in the long run.

Great advice. She is not only beautiful and but an inspiration. She relays a good message to stay active and pick your battles. I think her key point is to carry around healthy snacks in a ziplock baggie. This is a good point because we fail when we are not prepared and decide to grab a bad snack out of convenience. It is very much sad to hear that former bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky was suffering from an leg injury and now she is recovering and will be soon alright. But during this phase of time she has started gaining weight which is a biggest risk factor. We should hope for the best.
