You may not recognize Alison Moyet at first glance but she’s one of the members of the 80s pop duo Yaz, who released that awesome album back in 1982, Upstairs at Eric’s. Since then Alison has had a successful solo career having played at Live Aid and she has worked with the likes of Sinead O’Connor, Aimee Mann and Eurythmics. Even though her professional life was great she has spent the past 20 years yo-yo dieting, gaining and losing large amounts of weight. But in a recent interview the mother of three explained that she finally has herself sorted out and doesn’t want to become an old obese lady that can’t take care for herself physically. She said,
“I have smoked and eaten too much rubbish in my time, but the catalyst for me to do something about it was not wanting to be incapacitated. It goes back to my need for privacy.”
Throughout the years of being in the limelight she suffered from bouts of manic depression, thus the need for privacy. Let’s hope she has herself on track now because she’s only 48-years-old and still has plenty of years left to make great music, spend time with her family and live a healthy life.
Celeb Diet Doc…
She makes no mention of how she lost the weight… no mention of healthy foods etc. This makes me believe she had lap band or gastric bypass.
