Anthony Edwards Runs NYC Marathon
Anthony Edwards, one of the stars from the long running series ER, ran the NYC Marathon last month to raise money for Shoe4Africa to build a pediatric teaching hospital in Kenya. But marathon running isn’t something new for Edwards, he’s already run the Chicago marathon three times. When it comes to his training he told Runners Magazine,
“My typical routine is a six-miler in Central Park three days a week. But now we’re in full marathon training mode, so I’m getting into the long runs. We’re in and out of Connecticut. I do my hill work here.”
The 47-year-old ran his first marathon 10 years ago, so it’s impressive that he started running so late in life. Although it had been six years since his last Chicago Marathon he felt compelled to do the NYC marathon this year because he thought he could raise more money for Shoe4Africa by participating with the other charitable entries.
Other celebrities who like to run for a cause include Edward Norton, Alanis Morissette and Teri Hatcher.
