Ashlee Simpson Loses Baby Weight

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz revealed her smoking new body at the MTV Australia Awards after having dropped the 25 pounds of baby weight she gained while pregnant.  Her trainer, Ramona Braganza, told Ok Magazine that she did a lot of kickboxing and circuit training.  She said,

“Depending on how quickly you progress I move it along.  With Ashlee I think by January we were pretty much in my second phase of it, and doing really well. Then, I added some kickboxing in, and we did stairs in the house. Some different ways of doing cardio so it wasn’t boring in the gym everyday.”

As for Ashlee’s diet, her trainer advised her to eat anything in moderation.

“She’s from Texas. I’m from India, and if I ate Indian food all the time, I’d have the same problem,” she explains. “It’s having certain foods in moderation, and sticking to lean, and clean meals.”

Braganza also said that she advised Ashlee to drink the newly launched Vitaminwater10 because it’s a flavorful alternative to hydrating with water and new moms need to maintain a good daily intake of vitamins.

These fortified waters are dubious. Here’s the ingredient list:

reverse osmosis water, crystalline fructose (sweetener), erthritol (sweetener), natural flavor, citric acid, ascorbic acid, gum acacia, rebiana (stevia extract), magnesium lactate, natural caffeine, ester gum, guarana seed extract, calcium lactate, niacin, monopotassium phosphate, pantothenic acid, b-carotene, pyridoxine hydrochloride, cyanocobalamin.

I would stay away from fructose sweetened products. Processed fructose can lead to elevated triglycerides (risk factor for heart disease) and fatty liver. While the marketing is inviting and promises better health, you’re better off just drinking water. Otherwise if you’re set on drinking vitamin water, do so in moderation.

    In some areas, you can’t buy even buy bottled water. It’s hard to believe but it happened to me recently. All that was available were: “Vitamin Water”, soda pop & high fructose fruit juice.
