Bethenny Frankel’s Skinnygirl Dish Tips
This is one real housewife who knows how to lose weight, and keep it off, by simply using the food in her kitchen. Bethenny Frankel, one of the stars on Bravo’s reality series The Real Housewives of NYC, has penned another diet book called The Skinnygirl Dish and shares some of its weight-loss tips,
1. The first step is to eat allow yourself lots a small portions of the right foods. If you keep eating big portions of fatty and junk food, you’ll simple pack on the pounds. Bethenny suggests you stick to “high-volume vegetables, soups and grains”.
2. Only you know when you’re full. And only you can stop yourself eating when you’re full. So stop already!
3. If you enjoy an alcoholic drink once in a while, try to stick to clear liquids. But if you have to use Coca-Cola as a mixer, why not use soda with a splash of Coke instead – it waters down the sugar content of your drink a little.
4. You don’t have to deny yourself simply pleasures like chocolate, you just need to know how to make “simple swaps”. For example, Bethenny bakes with dark instead of milk chocolate, and if a recipe calls for four eggs, she uses two eggs and two egg whites.
5. Antioxidants go a long way. Try adding beet or carrot juice to your recipes, or fresh or dried blueberries, cranberries or raisins.
