Britney Spears: Diet and Weight Loss

Britney Spears is back in shape with the help of a new diet and workout regimen according to Ok magazine. How did she do it?

Britney Spears Diet
“I have no sugar. I don’t eat fruit of even fruit juice because of the sugar. I eat chicken and salmon and rice. I eat avocados. I’ll have egg whites for breakfast and sometimes turkey burgers for launch. I try to do just 1,200 caloires a day…. It may sound like it’s not much, but it’s actually a lot of food if you eat the right things.”

Instead of the Starbucks Fracppuccinos she had on a daily basis she has coffee with Equal.

Britney Spears Workout
She’s been doing “a lot of cardio and weights” working out 5 days a week with the weekends off.

Celeb Diet Doc Weigh in
Sounds like Britney is getting her life together and her healthier diet is a far cry from her daily diet of junk food that we reported about last year. However the idea that fruits are “high sugar” and should be avoided is simply false. Yes processed fruits and fruit juices should be avoided, but whole unprocessed fruits are some of the most powerful weight loss foods on earth. Fruits get a bad rap because many dietitians, nutritionists, diet gurus, trainers etc have all blindly followed the lead of Atkins and South Beach as labeling many fruits as “bad.” It’s the blind leading the blind.  If you would like to learn more download my special report where I outline why fruits mistakenly get a bad rap. Processed sugar and grains are to be avoided if you are looking to lose weight, not fruits.

Some people do fine without fruits (particularly those of European descent) because their ancestors went through months of hard winter where it was impossible to grow fruit.

I don’t eat a lot of fruits, I don’t need them, I lost a lot of weight doing Atkins and I can eat berries which I adore. By the way Dr. Marc. berries and green veggies are allowed in Atkins.

Ok, I’ve done this diet and trust me cutting out important foods like fruit is not a good way to go, my appetite increased, I had very little energy even while taking numerous vitamins, I think fruit is a much better option than rice with is loaded with carbs and fruit contains more of the good carbs as well as many other benefits, iron, b6, b12, calcium, zinc…etc. I’ve lost alot of weight from a miscarrage by doing the same diet except with fruit and no rice, no milk or red meat and for exercise I do 1 hr a day 5 days a week on the eliptacal machine and 50 crunches without my butt touching the floor, you have to lift it and keep it up while doing the crunches (much better results).

Fruit is fine when it’s fresh because it’s loaded with fiber. A healthy diet should be a balance of carbs, protein and fat. Any nutritionist who would advise a client otherwise is a failure! For the record, eating low-carb for a long period of time has a good probability of making you diabetic, giving you kidney stones and liver failure. The reason why eventually most low-carb dieters end up binging on carbs is because the body will not let you mess it up with a some fad diet without a fight.
