Candice Cameron: Weight Loss

We watched Candice Cameron Bure grow up on TV as a star of the hit sitcom Full House from 1987 to 1995. To this day Candice Cameron tells People Magazine that “people come up to me and say, ‘Weren’t you the chubby one?’” At age 16 she weighed 132 lbs and despite giving birth to three children now weighs 22 lbs less, at 5′2″, than she did back then. How’d she do it?
When her time on Full House was over, she lost 20 lbs by working out with a trainer her parents had hired. “They said it would be good for my health – they didn’t say anything about me being overweight.” She continued to focus on eating right and exercising even while pregnant with kids. She also credits her husband, Valeri Bure, a Russian hockey star. “He is the best motivator for me,” says Cameron Bure, whose Pilates sessions with Bure “kick butt.”
A typical diet for her consists of oatmeal or eggs and toast for breakfast, lean protein with salad and fresh fruit for lunch and dinner. It’s paying dividends as Candice reveals, “The other day at the market someone said, ‘You used to be fat. Look at you now!’”

In addition to a good diet and exercise, it is critical to have a spouse who is supportive of your efforts. Kudos to her husband, for being not only supportive but engaged in pilates with Candice. A family that exercises together loses weight and stays together!
