Carrie Underwood: Weight Struggles
Country music singing sensation Carrie Underwood is fit and healthy. In the past she has revealed her diet and exercise habits in magazine interviews but this time she tells a little bit more about her struggles with weight over the years. In a radio interview over the weekend in Ontario she said that it’s in her genes and it’s hard to keep the weight off. After highschool she gained 10 pounds, then gained 10 more while on the American Idol series. She ended up weighing 130 pounds but being only 5-feet 3-inches tall she didn’t think that was good for her small frame. She said,
“I carry all my stress weight, all my potato chip weight,” she told radio host Steve Warne, “Around my mid section. You’ve got to fight genetics sometimes.”
To keep the weight off while on tour she doesn’t eat the catered food but instead has a refrigerator on the bus and she keeps it stocked by visiting local grocery stores in the cities she visits. Underwood has also enlisted the help of trainer Tony Greco to get her in shape for her upcoming tour as well as for her wedding. She and her new fiance Mike Fisher do not have a date yet because of their busy schedules but she has plenty of time to get in shape.
