Jane Seymour: Weight Loss

Jane Seymour lost 20 lbs while training on Dancing with the Stars! Now this is one celeb that I think we can all agree doesn’t need to lose weight. In fact, Jane has been trying to put on weight recently. Now why is it that Jane Seymour feels she needs to put on weight while other celebs are having trouble losing?
Let’s take a look at her diet. Her diet consists of fresh fruits and veggies and some lean protein. She also stays away from sodas and alcohol. The secret to understanding successful weight loss is to reflect on how we evolved as a species. I can tell you, it wasn’t on trans-fats, refined carbs (white flour products), cheese, prime rib, coke, gummi bears etc. Our food consisted of mainly veggies, fruits, legumes, nuts, and occasional lean protein. Stick with this main principle and you’ll understand how to lose a lot of weight. Generally the less processed the foods you eat, the healthier and thinner you will be.
Suddenly with all the training, Jane can’t keep the weight on. I’m not surprised.

Weird Gastric Bypass Advertising

Controversial yes. Effective no. Believe it or not this is actual advertising for a gastric bypass surgery center. Equating obesity with suicide bombers is not only in poor taste, but bad business. If you thought this was bad, it only gets worse. [Read more →]

The Krispy Kreme whole wheat glazed doughnut

Krispy Kreme launched a “whole wheat donut” earlier this year. Incredibly it is being pitched by the company as an “alternative for health conscious consumers with the benefits of 100% whole wheat and only 180 calories.” Hmmm… Seems like they forgot to mention that their “healthier” donut also comes packed with 3.5 grams of transfats and 10 grams of refined sugar.
