But it’s not just any salad, it’s a salad for fast-food chain Carl’s Jr. Known for getting <a href="http://www.celebritydietdoctor.com/tag/paris-hilton/">Paris Hilton</a>, <a href="http://www.celebritydietdoctor.com/tag/padma-lakshmi/">Padma Lakshmi</a> and <a href="http://www.celebritydietdoctor.com/tag/adriana-lima">Adriana Lima</a> to sell their famous charbroiled burgers, the restaurant got the 29-year-old reality TV star to sex up their salads with a hot new commercial.</p>
<p><span id="more-6676"></span>Two of the salads are pretty weight-loss friendly: the Charbroiled Chicken Salad has only 250 calories, 9g fat, 75mg cholesterol and 590mg sodium, while the Side Salad has 50 calories and 2.5g – without the salad dressing. But it’s the Green Burrito Taco Salad that’s a bit of a shocker; it weighs in at 970 calories, 58g fat, 75mg cholesterol and 1850mg sodium!</p>
<p>If Kim was really as serious as she seems to be about eating healthy and maintaining that lifestyle, she really should put more thought into promoting lukewarm weight-loss campaigns.</p>

This week she opened up to <em>OK!</em> magazine about how her troubled past contributed to her unhealthy weight and how life has changed since being on the ranch.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span id="more-6636"></span>She explained that as a kid she and her mother were homeless; her mom&#8217;s addiction was heroin, and Shay&#8217;s addiction was food.  Before she entered the show her doctor even suggested gastric bypass surgery because of her morbid obesity.  But now she&#8217;s on the path to good health.  When asked about her home workouts she responded,</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;I&#8217;m working out with a trainer and doing a lot of exercising by the pool and on the beach &#8211; even basketball drills.  My husband loves to play basketball and now I have skills so I play him one-on-one!&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>She also mentioned that she hikes and rides bikes with her husband.  Shay admits that she still slips up from time to time but she learned on the ranch that when you make a calorie mistake you have to correct it with exercise.  So if you splurge and eat an extra 500 calories one day, you need to burn an extra 500 calories in your workout.  Good luck, Shay.</p>

The advice that Shay received from the Biggest Loser about correcting overeating with extra exercise is misguided and I don&#8217;t recommend this strategy. The key is not to increase your exercise, it is to cut down the amount of processed foods you eat. Remember you lose weight with eating the proper foods, you keep it off with exercise.</p>

<p>NBC.com released a bonus scene from Week 9 of the latest season of <a href="http://www.celebritydietdoctor.com/tag/biggest-loser/"><em>The Biggest Loser</em></a>, in which the contestants were taught how to grow their own organic garden. Fresh from visiting the one grown by one of the executive chefs in the White House, <a href="http://www.celebritydietdoctor.com/michelle-obama%E2%80%99s-chef-cooks-healthy-for-the-first-family/">Sam Kass</a>, the players were all inspired to work on their own garden. The remaining contestants wanted to create their own garden as something they could leave behind for the next season’s players.</p>
<p><span id="more-6622"></span>A representative from Gro Organic met with the reality TV contestants, explaining that organic food facilitates the purging of toxins from your body, helping you to lose weight easier. Also, by growing your own organic garden you have complete control over what you cook at home and essentially what nutrients you allow to enter your body.</p>
<p>In the video above, the Gro Organic representative shows the contestants how to plant their bulbs, and as the contestants talk amongst themselves, they release that with a garden such as this they do truly have control over what they eat – as oppose to ordering a meal in a restaurant without being able to see how it is prepared.</p>

<p><span id="more-6587"></span>Cycling not only helps improve your balance and coordination, it’s also a great cardio workout that tones and strengthens your leg and abdominal muscles. The cardio gets your blood pumping and lungs working, reducing your risk of coronary heart disease, and if done over a period of time builds your stamina.</p>

Padma spends quite a lot of time in the <a href="http://www.celebritydietdoctor.com/padma-lakshmi-pre-natal-exercise/">gym</a> and on the treadmill trying to keep as fit as possible while pregnant, but is nonetheless <a href="http://www.celebritydietdoctor.com/padma-lakshmi-slim-down-tips/">realistic</a> when it comes to her weight, her job and her of her body expectations.</p>
<p><span id="more-6517"></span>Recently the 39-year-old TV host shared her 10-point plan to get her body back with <em>Glamour </em>magazine:</p>
<p>1. Avoid dangerous starvation diets and cleanses by <strong>being realistic </strong>about the amount of time it’ll take to lose weight.</p>
<p>2. Food is pleasurable and denying yourself that pleasure will lead to binging. Don’t feel guilty about <strong>indulging once in a while</strong>.</p>
<p>3. <strong>Eat breakfast</strong> within the first hour of waking up to jump-start your metabolism.</p>
<p>4. <strong>Reduce your alcohol intake</strong> because it’s laced with calories.</p>
<p>5. Keep your metabolism running high during the day by eating <strong>two healthy snacks</strong> daily.</p>
<p>6. It’s easier to control your calories and the amount of fat in foods when you <strong>cook at home</strong> (instead of getting takeout).</p>
<p>7. <strong>Adding spices</strong> to your meals makes you feel as if you’re eating a really scrumptious meal, reducing your temptation to want something “extra” afterwards.</p>
<p>8.<strong> Eating loads of veggies </strong>that are high in fiber help you feel fuller quicker and for longer.</p>
<p>9. <strong>Single-serving sweets</strong> like ice-cream sandwiches are portion controlled, preventing you from a too-big portion of dessert.</p>
<p>10. Never overlook the power of <strong>cardio </strong>when trying to lose weight and become healthy.</p>

He did confess that he is still struggling with binge eating and it was even something he dealt with while on the show and being surrounded by only healthy foods.  <span id="more-6475"></span>He explained,</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;The Ranch doesn&#8217;t have candy bars or fast food sitting around but there are things you can munch on. If I [was] really stressed out, instead of talking to somebody, I would suppress it by going for handfuls of cashews or something.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>Daniel&#8217;s life changing experience is definitely for the better. He hopes to be below 200 pounds for the upcoming season finale and he plans on donating his big clothes to charity.</p>

She&#8217;s losing weight, feeling more confident and she&#8217;s even become more <a href="http://www.celebritydietdoctor.com/kelly-osbournes-new-fit-style/">feminine and stylish</a> along the way.  She has now revealed this week that she&#8217;s lost a total of 20 pounds! It was just a few weeks ago that she told <em>OK! Magazine</em> she had lost 14 pounds and she&#8217;s dropped six more pounds.  Her dance partner Louis Van Amstel has also noticed her dramatic weight loss.  He said,</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;Her muscles have gotten stronger, too, they become heavier.  So, even if it might have been just 20 [pounds], it really feels like 30 or 35 to me &#8217;cause she&#8217;s fading in front of my eyes.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p><span id="more-6458"></span>Louis also mentioned that when he looks at their prior dance tapes he doesn&#8217;t even recognize her.  Osbourne did say,</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;I&#8217;m f******ing starving right now,&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>But she&#8217;s losing weight, so let the girl starve! Apart from dancing, Louis and Kelly have been attending Pilates classes together to stay in shape.</p>

News</em> that she is still eating normally and getting carbs from dishes like spaghetti bolognese and chicken quesadillas and she&#8217;s avoiding the scales all together. <span id="more-6435"></span>She explained,</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;If I start weighing myself I will start being like, &#8216;Maybe I shouldn&#8217;t eat so I could lose some more,&#8217; I would go to that end.  I would get obsessed with that fact that I was losing it and I would keep at it.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>The dancing queen also mentioned that she has lost two more inches since just last week and that she&#8217;s beginning to see hard stomach muscles that she never had before. As for her time on DWTS, she&#8217;s absolutely loving it but doesn&#8217;t like the idea that it will all be over very soon.</p>

She&#8217;s definitely a trooper because she&#8217;s getting up at 4am to go to the gym so that she&#8217;s home by 7am in order to take care of her four kids and get them off to school.  Now that&#8217;s dedication.  She said,</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;We have a very busy life and I really had to make sure I wrote a schedule out that worked for me and worked for my family&#8230;I have a two-year-old daughter that I stay home with because I&#8217;m a stay-at-home mom, but I knew that I had to find a gym that had a kids club.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p><span id="more-6357"></span>Tracey is hard at work losing the weight and since the finale is only five weeks she&#8217;s keeping her weight-loss hush-hush.  She knows she still could be a finalist for the at-home prize which is also worth a lot.  She said,</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;This is the first time in my life that I actually started something and trust me, I&#8217;m going to finish exactly what I&#8217;ve started and if that means I get to take home that prize, then I&#8217;m gunning for it.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p style="text-align: left;">Even though Tracy is one of the more controversial contestants on the show this season it seems she&#8217;s got her head on straight and she wants that prize.</p>

<p>Gregory, who works with his team of holistic nutritionists Holistic Fitness, has worked with Rachel Weisz, Avril Lavigne and <a href="http://www.celebritydietdoctor.com/tag/demi-moore/">Demi Moore</a>, sculpting their bodies and minds as a whole. Speaking to AOL Health, Gregory and his team outlined their exclusive program that’ll guarantee you’ll drop 5 pounds.<span id="more-6352"></span></p>
<p><strong>1. Cardio</strong><br />
You need to follow an intense full-body cardio program for at least 30 minutes five days a week. Exercises like kickboxing, rowing or power yoga work best because they tone both upper and lower parts of your body.</p>
<p><strong>2. Weight training</strong><br />
Alternating days, you need high-intensity weight training with free weights or machines 3 days a week as well as a minimum of 15 minutes abdominal training.</p>
<p><strong>3. Nutrition</strong><br />
You need to follow a low-fat diet consuming less than 1 500 calories daily, as well as taking multivitamins, drinking 10 glasses of water a day and green tea. The diet needs to include high-fiber foods and proteins so you can keep your metabolism ticking while maintaining your strength.</p>
<p>Other tips the Holistic Fitness team have are never skip a balanced breakfast, buy wholesome foods, keep changing up your daily menu, make sure your portions are realistic and eat organic when you can.</p>
