6 Workout Tips From Celebrity Trainers

We all wonder how the celebrities manage to stay so toned and keep up their fabulous bodies.  Well here are some secrets and tips straight from the celebrities’ personal trainers.

1. David Kirsch: Trainer of Heidi Klum and Naomi Campbell

Try this workout for sensational buns.  All it requires is a stability ball.

  • Using a stability ball, lie face down so that your hips are on the ball and your hands and feet are on the floor for balance
  • Move your feet out behind you so that they are in a V
  • Slowly pick your feet up of the floor, forming a wide V, squeeze them together
  • Lower them back down to the floor, and then back into the V shape
  • Repeat 15-20 reps

2. Joe Dowdell: Trainer of Anne Hathaway and Claire Danes

If you want to improve your endurance while making your muscles work harder at the same time, try this tip.  Try spending less time resting between sets during the first half of your workout when your muscles are still fresh and not as exhausted.  Spend 20-30 more seconds resting between sets at the end of the workout as the muscles begin to fatigue.  Known as density training, it helps cut the workout time  by 15-20% while improving endurance. Workout Shoe Buying Tips

About a decade ago, I had purchased an expensive pair of athletic shoes for about $75.  My mother harped on me and told me that I was foolish for wasting my good money and that I could have gotten an “x” number of pairs had purchased them from Payless Shoes.

I didn’t know how to tell her at that time that my feet were (are) different and that Payless shoes did not offer the right shoes to pamper my feet that I needed to build endurance.

Like my mother, people tend to go for style and/or price but seldom understand that the right pair of shoes can make a difference in one’s workout performance.  The wrong pair of shoes can cut short of one’s performance due to some evolving tension or ache in the foot.   I’ve seen this scenario over and over again with my friends.  My friends like to “stockpile” on shoes from Ross Stores but seldom wear them.    I know that if the shoes fitted properly, they will wear them more often and NOT “stuff” them in their closets.
