Because we’re all frantically running around during this time of the year, Marcos created a 5-minute total body routine, published in <em>Us</em> magazine, for which you only need your own body weight.</p>
<p>Dedicate only 1 minute to each exercise; they’re guaranteed to work your biceps, triceps, shoulders, chest, core, abs, lower back, glutes and thighs.<br />
<strong><br />
<span id="more-6672"></span>Jumping Plies</strong><br />
Begin with a regular plie – feet more than shoulder-width apart, back straight, abs contracted – lowering yourself so that your thighs are parallel to the floor (or as far as you can go). But instead of slowly straightening your knees, quickly jump up, returning to your starting position upon landing to repeat the move.</p>
<p><strong>Reverse Lunges</strong><br />
Instead of stepping forward into a regular lunge, step backwards, but make sure your back is straight and your abs are contracted. Your front knee should be directly over your heel, and then return to your original position (standing with your feet shoulder width apart) and repeat with the opposite leg.</p>
<p><strong>Push-Ups</strong><br />
There’s no variation to this classic move; just make sure you keep your body as straight as a plank and flex at the elbow. Repeat for 1 minute.</p>
<p><strong>Dips</strong><br />
With your hands beside you pressing on a flat, raised surface and your legs stretched out in front of you, slowly lower yourself as far as you can go. Push yourself back up to your starting position and then repeat.</p>
<p><strong>Side Planks</strong><br />
Start in the plank position, but with your one hand pointed up towards the sky and your other on the ground holding your body up. With your feet stacked on each other, lower your hips to the ground but keep your bottom arm locked. (This move works your core.) Then return to the starting position and repeat.</p>

As the holidays are soon approaching Borges has teamed up with <em>JCPenny</em> to offer a total-body circuit routine to keep that body in shape while feasting on pumpkin pie and cookies at those office holiday parties. He offers five simple exercises that only take five minutes where only your own body weight is to be used and not any supplemental weights.  In addition, each exercise should be done for one minute only before you move on to the next one so be sure to keep a stopwatch handy.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong><span id="more-6660"></span>1. Jumping Plies -</strong> Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and do a traditional squat but when you come up explode into a jump straight up into the air.<br />
<strong>2. Reverse Lunges -</strong> Stand with fee shoulder-width apart and step back into a lunge making sure to suck your tummy in and keep your back straight.  Then step back up to starting position and repeat on other leg.<br />
<strong>3. Push-Ups -</strong> You surely know this one already.  It&#8217;s a good old-fashioned exercise that works practically every body part.<br />
<strong>4. Dips -</strong> With a bench or chair behind you squat down so that your hands are on the chair.  Dip down by flexing at the elbow and then come back up to where arms are straight again.<br />
<strong>5. Side Planks -</strong> Lie in the plank position with one hand flat on the ground  with a straight arm and the other pointing up to the sky while feet are stacked on top of each other.  Lower hips to the ground while maintaining a locked arm then return to starting position.<br />

<p>As the <a href="http://www.celebritydietdoctor.com/victorias-secret-angel-boot-camp/">Victoria&#8217;s Secret Angels</a> are getting ready for the big annual fashion show, <a href="http://www.celebritydietdoctor.com/heidi-klum-post-pregnancy-diet/">Heidi Klum</a> is also getting her body back into shape even though she is officially not walking the catwalk.  She has announced that she will be hosting the event instead but all the same she wants to look her best. The 36-year-old gave birth in early October and as can be seen in the photo above she&#8217;s already looking in tip-top shape.  She did however tell <em>US Magazine</em> that being in her late 30s and getting back into shape has been different in comparison to her pregnancy when she was 31 years of age. <span id="more-6643"></span>When asked how she&#8217;s losing the weight she responded,</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t exercise too much &#8212; I walk.  I walk on the treadmill a little bit.  I walk on the driveway.  I&#8217;m very active with the children&#8230;&#8230;But you know when you breast feed, when you eat right, you move around a little bit, that usually does the job.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>Klum did admit that she hopes to lose 20 more pounds and she has a trainer that goes to her house and they do work on the medicine ball.  When it comes to eating, Heidi isn&#8217;t one to munch on salads and chicken but she allows herself tasty foods like goulash, schnitzel and spaghetti bolognese.</p>

Heidi will need to change her diet if she wants to get back to model form. Exercise alone will not do the trick. The Goulash is great for weight loss, but she needs to say wiedersehen to the schnitzel and spaghetti.</p>

The challenge took her through different activities that she had never done before, two of which were gymnastics and kayaking.</p>
<p><span id="more-6609"></span>She took a gymnastics class at the NYC Chelsea Piers sports complex and after swallowing her pride and falling down a few times she learned that it&#8217;s a great workout even if you do have to wear a leotard.  She said,</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;I left feeling strong and capable-as if I&#8217;d conquered not  only the world but the leotard too.  So  much fun and an incredible workout.  Weekly class, here I come!&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>Later in the challenge she tried kayaking with the Manhattan Kayak Company even though she&#8217;s not a &#8216;water-sports person.&#8217;  Focusing on not tipping over she forgot about her &#8216;hate&#8217; for water sports and instead got a good look at New York City from all angles and gained a fresh new perspective.</p>
<p>Be it a sport or hobby never be afraid to try something new, it will keep both your body and mind sharp and active.</p>

As she&#8217;s gearing up to hit the big screen she talked with <em>SELF</em> Magazine about her workouts, favorite music and of course fashion. Even though she sports a thin frame she admits that she&#8217;s not like other starts who don&#8217;t eat but she does balance that out with plenty of exercise.  <span id="more-6603"></span>Three to four times a week she&#8217;ll do 30 minute cardio workouts at<em> Equinox</em> gym and she does body-resistance moves with her trainer to keep a feminine physique.  She said,</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;Working out for me, actually it just, it&#8217;s obvious I get very stressed out with everything I do and it just kind of de-stresses it, it releases it.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>In addition, she likes to go to dance classes but sticks to the back row because she&#8217;s not too confident in her fancy footwork.  As for the diet she doesn&#8217;t limit herself from anything but she does watch her carbs.  She explained,</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;I try to limit the carbs because my trainer always tells me I&#8217;ll see results faster if I cut out the bread but I&#8217;m such a bread fanatic, the bread basket is my favorite thing for dinner.&#8221;</p></blockquote>

One contestant named Alicia even said,</p>

<p>Kirsch first gave each girl some tips on where they could improve their body in certain targeted areas.  He wasn&#8217;t suggesting to lose weight but to firm up what&#8217;s already there.  They did both strength and cardio training including work like frog jumps, push-ups and weight training. It was also interesting something he said about the<a href="http://www.celebritydietdoctor.com/supermodel-bikini-workouts/#more-3130"> supermodel</a> body-type.</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;I think that models aren&#8217;t always so healthy.  I mean they are beautiful and they are thin but thin doesn&#8217;t always mean they&#8217;re always tone and healthy and sexy for me.&#8221;</p></blockquote>

<a href="http://www.celebritydietdoctor.com/kelly-osbournes-weight-loss-on-dancing-with-the-stars/">Kelly Osbourne</a> is not the only one who lost weight during the current season of <a href="http://www.celebritydietdoctor.com/dancing-with-the-stars-weight-loss/">Dancing With The Stars</a>.  The R&amp;B singer <a href="http://www.celebritydietdoctor.com/mya-11-pound-weight-loss-dwts/">Mya</a> has also lost 11 pounds and a dress size while on the show.  She originally lost 17 pounds but then gained back a few pounds of muscle as she continued training.  So now the petite star weight only 127 pounds. This week, she told the readers of <em>OK! Magazine</em> how she lost the weight.  Her dance rehearsals were anywhere from six to 12 hours a day for several days a week.  <span id="more-6544"></span>She said,</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;Aside from dancing, I do boxing workouts, I jump rope, do crunches and interval training.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>The 30-year-old said that she burned a lot of fat and gained muscle while on the show and she feels like she&#8217;s in the best shape of her life. Mya also mentioned that while on the set there was a lot of the flu going around and she did have some flu-like symptoms but she&#8217;s ok now.</p>

<p><span id="more-6446"></span>Fonda now has plans to climb the Himalayas in October 2010 so she has recently had some surgery done in order to be prepared.  She has a new knee, a hip made of titanium and she had work done on her spine.  She told the German newspaper <em>Bild</em> that when she jogs she has to wear a corset because of the spinal surgery. Being that the Himalayas is 8,000 meters high Fonda wants all of her body parts working smoothly before she does the big climb. Considering that her Jane Fonda Workout video from 1982 is one of the biggest selling exercise videos of all time there is no doubt that she&#8217;ll conquer that mountain.</p>

<p>Celebrity trainer David Kirsch helped <a href="http://www.celebritydietdoctor.com/?s=heidi+klum">Heidi Klum</a> lose her baby weight, whipped <em>Sports Illustrated </em>swimwear model <a href="http://www.celebritydietdoctor.com/julie-henderson-one-a-day-workout/">Julie Henderson</a> into shape and detoxed <a href="http://www.celebritydietdoctor.com/anne-hathaway-48-hour-detox/">Anne Hathaway</a>, and now he’ll help you keep off those holiday season pounds.</p>
<p>That isn’t to say you can go overboard with the turkey, stuffing and eggnog over the next few weeks, but he’s created a special workout that’ll help you stay (more or less) on your fitness track. All you need are dumbbells, a medicine ball and an exercise ball.</p>
<p><span id="more-6400"></span>The first exercise is David’s famous side squat with medicine wood chop, and then jumping jacks with shoulder press (using dumbbells). The third exercise is the squat thrust, fourth the mountain climber and fifth the platypus walk, all to be done with a medicine ball. Next up are jumping lunges, the push-up to Tee stand and then the sumo lunge with side kick and frog jump. David then moves into the reverse lunge with front kick, the plyometric push-up and the crossover lunge with bicep curl. Finally David finishes with ball tucks.</p>
<p>Do 15 to 20 reps of each exercise, then repeat the entire program twice so that you’ve completed the circuit 3 times within 45 minutes.</p>

In her interview with <em>Ok! Magazine</em> she revealed her inspiration for running the race and how she trained in order to finish with a time of 4:23:12. She said that after finishing Biggest Loser she needed a new challenge in order to keep herself motivated so she followed an online training program to get ready for the marathon. <span id="more-6379"></span>She said,</p>

Way to go, Tara.</p>
