Yes, Ernestine Sheperd is 72-years-old. Yes, she’s a fitness instructor. And yes, she runs 80 miles a week and lifts weights almost every day.
Once a week Ernestine leads a workout class for senior citizens at the Union Memorial United Methodist Church in Baltimore, Maryland, with her main inspiration to let individual s her age know that they too can stay fit and healthy and not have to worry about being laughed at or stared at at a regular gym.

Run To Help Haiti
If you’d like to help the citizens of Haiti who are trying to piece back together their lives after the devastating earthquake ripped apart their nation on January 12, you can put your feet on the pavement and your hands in your wallets.
Trish Short: Sponsor this ultra marathoner as she runs 30 miles on January 30 at the Firstenburg Community Center in Vancouver to raise money for the Three Angels Children’s Relief, which supports an orphanage, school and medical clinic in Haiti. Meridia Diet Pill Warning
If you’re currently taking the Meridia weight-loss pill and you have a history of heart problems, it’s best you stop using it. The Food and Drug Administration have issue new warnings saying the pill could increase the risk of heart attack and/or stroke.
Meridia is related to the amphetamine family and was approved by the FDA in 1997 to be used as a weight-loss supplement in combination with exercise and a diet. The FDA said in a statement that patients taking the drug should consult their doctors and should have their blood pressure as well as heart rate regularly checked. [Read more →]

Those who follow strongman competitions and keep an eye on records involving great feats of strength will know the Mighty Joe Rollino. Sadly, at the age of 104, he died. But not from old age, he was hit by a minivan while on one of his daily walks.
Even at his ripe old age, Joe never missed his morning walk. Whether the sun was shining or the rain came pouring down, the man affectionately known as the World’s Strongest Man by his fans in Brooklyn, walked 5 miles every day.
