Alicia gets all her meals from Vegin' Out
Even the best of us have trouble eating healthy all of the time. It takes so much of it just to buy all of the various ingredients, especially since they don’t exactly stay fresh long enough to prevent multiple trips to the store per month. There is also the time it takes to prepare the food. Sure, there are a lot of quick recipes out there, but generally in order to get more variety it requires more time and effort. To top it off, if you are a vegetarian or a vegan the list of quick recipes with variety tends to get even smaller.
That is why so many people, including celebrities are turning to home delivery services that deliver pre-prepared meals. Although the average Joe may not be able to afford home food delivery service, celebrities can afford it and many do use it.
Just what are they using? Many in Southern California choose to use a place called Vegin Out, created by a nutritional chef named Tim Boissy who has been a Vegan since 1986. His simple idea was to make it easy for people to still eat healthy even with limited time by delivering an entire week worth of meals at once. The meals arrive on Mondays (or Tuesdays to those that live outside the Las Angeles area).
Among the celebrities that use Vegin’ Out are Andy Dick and Alicia Silverstone.
I love Vegin’ Out, it’s so yummy! Even if you’re not vegan, give it a try ’cause who wouldn’t want delicious healthy food all prepared and brought right to your doorstep? It’s so convenient, I don’t even have to think about it, and I’m always looking forward to tasting the original dishes they’re constantly creating,” Alicia has said.
Just what all do you get for your bucks? One order consists of 9-10 meals made up of three entrees, four side dishes, one soup, and five vegan cookies. It comes with three servings of each dish and extra main dishes can be added to the order. Sample menu items include cauliflower cream penne, braised tofu in peanut sauce, tomato cucumber salad, edamame potato salad, three bean salad, country veggie and barley soup, and black forest cookies. The list goes on and it all sounds oh so yummy.
Those that do not live in Southern California can usually find places like this in their area. For instance, Molly Sims chooses to use a place called Nu-Kitchen to provide healthy meal options for her. Nu-Sims serves the New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Chicago, and Atlanta areas as well as some others.
“I’m traveling between NY and LA all the time, and it’s so important to eat right. I just feel better when I’m healthy, and Nu-Kitchen helps me stay healthy and feel good when I’m too busy to think about food,” says Molly.
She is not the only celebrity to use Nu-Kitchen, nor is she the only celebrity to use other places offering similar services. Sarah Michelle Gellar says that she doesn’t know what she would’ve done without the help of a company called Fresh Mommy to help her keep up with well balanced meals for herself after her baby was born.
More celebrities using these home delivery services of various kinds include Poppy Montgomery, Busy Phillips from Cougar Town, Lil’ Kim, Melanie Brown, Holly Robinson Peete, Angie Everhart, Melinda Clarke, and Dina Manzo. There are probably many more that can be added to that list.
