Coca-Cola 90-Calorie Cans

If you’re trying to manage your weight-loss but find cutting yourself off from your favorite fizzy drink a bit hard, Coca-Cola will soon be launching a 90-calorie mini can.
Sold in packs of 8, the new soft drink size will not only be limited to Coca-Cola, you will also be able to buy Sprite, Fanta Orange and Cherry Coca-Cola in these mini cans. The world’s largest soft drink company says it’s planning to roll out the new 7.5-oz cans nationwide by March 2010, but as part of its ongoing endeavors to increase consumer awareness about a healthy lifestyle, the company will be printing calorie information on almost all of its packaging.
“As the world’s largest beverage company, we take seriously the need to help consumers balance calories consumed with calories expended,” Sandy Douglas, president of Coca-Cola North America, told FitSugar. “The Coca-Cola mini can innovation reinforces the company’s support for healthy, active lifestyles.”
Watch the promotional video here, in which Jan Tilley, a registered dietician, says the new can sizes will go a long way to help people who simply love Coca-Cola but who also want to manage their calories.
“The size of the packaging really reinforces moderation,” Jan says in the video. “And calling out the calorie content on the front of the label helps people to understand how this will fit into their calorie allotment for the day. Plus it’s fun, it’s cute, it’s portable. People still like to enjoy what they eat and drink, it’s one of the small pleasures in life.”
