David Bromstad: Diet and Exercise

The season one winner of HGTV’s Design Star, David Bromstad, is currently the host of the network’s show Color Splash.  Recently he gave an interview on how he stays in shape and also gave a few diet tips.  When asked if he feels the same pressures to be fit like the big Hollywood celebrities he replied,
“I’ve always been the exact same way as I am now. I really…I like to feel good about myself and working out is part of the equation…. I like being that way. I think TV is an extra added motivation to stay on top of it…I want people to see me and be motivated by it.”
When asked if he had any words of wisdom he said that a person needs to live and love the healthy lifestyle everyday, it’s not just reaching a goal weight but maintaining a healthy weight.
As for David’s workout he said that while filming the show he goes to the gym in the evenings and since he keeps to a strict schedule, the busier he gets, the more he exercises.  His hour long workout involves lifting weights in intervals in order to keep his heart rate up since he doesn’t do cardio training.
Lastly, David said that as he gets older he’s seeing that his metabolism has slowed down.  Likewise, he’s sure to keep healthy snack such as bananas and protein bars on the set so that he doesn’t eat junk.
“In my mid-thirties I’m realizing I can’t really eat what I want anymore.”

Thanks for the clues as to what he does. Ever since I first saw him on TV, I've been super curious as to what he does. He has that lean "Hollywood" look down pat! lol
