Demi Moore: Raw Diet

Want to know the secret to Demi Moore’s slim figure and youthful appearance? If you guessed a fulltime personal trainer and a little nip here and a tuck there, you’d be halfway right. But the 46-year-old actress also maintains her beauty by eating only raw foods.
According to Susan Schenk, author of The Live Food Factor, when we cook food, we destroy all the enzymes and almost all of the vitamins our bodies need to rejuvenate itself. The raw food diet contains a lot of Omega 3 fatty acids (unsaturated fatty acids) mainly derived from chia seeds, flax seeds and walnuts, but the diet also includes coconut butter, which helps boost your metabolism to burn fat, Schenk says.
“It is also rich in MUFAS (monounsaturated fatty acids) such as olive, avocados, nuts and sunflower seeds. These help reduce belly fat,” Schenk continues.
Other celebrity ‘raw foodists’ include Alicia Silverstone, Woody Harrelson and model Carol Alt.
When Alt was 34-years-old, her career as a model was nearing an end because of her increasingly visible wrinkles and puffy eyes. Her doctor then put her on the raw food diet (she ate what she normally would, but just ate it all raw) and her wrinkles began to disappear. When she was 47, Alt posed nude for Playboy magazine.
“The woman didn’t look a day older than 34. It is as if the raw diet froze her body in time!” says Schenk.
