Diet & Exercise Tips for Your Wedding

Sue Fleming is the author of Buff Brides (an exercise book to get you wedding ready) and she’s also the former trainer of Katie Holmes. In a recent interview she gave all kinds of tips about exercise and how to quickly drop a few pounds. Take a look at some of her great ideas!:

Eliminate Sugar
The quickest way to drop a few pounds is to eliminate all sugar from your diet.

Consistent Exercise
Exercise has to be regular and once a week won’t cut it. Aim for 30 to 60 minutes of a cardio and weight-training combo and do it three to four times a week.

Lift Weights
Lifting weights is essentially to burning fat. If you only do cardio you are not working the lean muscle and it’s the lean muscle that is your metabolic furnace that will have you burning calories 24 hours a day.

Avoid Caffeine
If you’re trying to lose weight stay away from the caffeine because it will increase your appetite and insulin resistance.

Boost Your Metabolism
Stay away from sugar, drink lots of water through out the day and don’t forget to have breakfast.

Stretch
Be sure to stretch both before and after your workouts for at least five minutes each time. You will decrease the risk of exercise-related injuries like pulled muscles and achy knees.

Rest Your Muscles
Don’t workout the same muscle group two days in a row as they need a day to heel. For example, if you do arms on Monday and Wednesday, do legs on Tuesday and Thursday.
