		<description>There is some movement  to have the FDA regulate weight loss supplements; however, this is not feasible even if the majority of consumers push for this direction.  If weight loss supplements were regulated by the FDA, the costs of these supplements will go UP DRASTICALLY.  Trials are extremely expensive to conduct.  It&#039;s not as easy as catching a bunch of mice off the street and using them for lab experiments.  These are special bred mice.  When you add up these costs in addition to the costs of the vet(s) involved, the FDA fees,  the insurance, the medical treatments related to the trial of these patients (people), most weight loss supplement companies will go out of business.  

Despite concerns over safety, it is important to realize that a FDA approval DOES NOT guarantee that the product is 100% safe because no responsible company will ever test the toxicity levels of their products on humans.</description>
