Dr Phil McGraw: Weight Gain

dr-phil-mcgraw.png
Author of the Ultimate Weight Loss Solution and self described weight loss expert, Phil McGraw is reported to be 250 pounds and 6 foot 4 inches which officially puts him in the obese category. The National Enquirer dishes out some tough love for the “say it like it is” psychologist and self-improvement guru.

“TV Shrink Dr Phil wags his finger and scolds the overweight guests on his talk show. But these days, he might want to start listening to his own advice. The 57- year old Oprah protege preaches that extra flab is a choice. If you’re fat, he says, you have no one to blame but yourself. Now, say insiders, it’s time for the Hollywood doc to get real himself.”

When his book first came out, he was diligent about his diet sticking to lean protein, steamed veggies along with salads and fruit. Now “he cheats more often” and “he’s not as careful about his eating habits as he used to be.” Even the wardrobe staff on his show are complaining because “he has to have a whole new wardrobe because his waist and chest measurements have ballooned.”

Celebrity Diet Doctor Weigh In…
If true, I feel sorry for Dr Phil. I also reported that the healthy aging doctor, Andrew Weil looks to have central obesity. It just goes to show that even the “experts” have trouble following their own advice. Btw, Dr Phil’s book offers little in the way of an actual diet plan. It mainly addresses the psychological issues surrounding weight loss.

“Don’t do as I do, do as I say”. Dr.are human, too, and under a lot of stress. And as we age, that weight control gets harder and harder. Come join us at Buddyslim. At least we make healthy, fun!

    Hi Southern Girl,

the best way to lose weight is more fruits and veggies period. think about how we evolved and then you’ll understand how to best lose weight.

we didn’t evolve on trans fats, oreo cookies, cake … I assume if you’re southern you may be eating Paula Dean type southern cooking. High fat and high refined carb diets will make weight loss extremely difficult, if not impossible, for you.

our ancestors ate mostly veggies, nuts, legumes, berries, and occasionally some very lean meat.

    hope this helps
