Comedian Drew Carey lost an amazing 80 lbs and dropped to a 33 pants size. And what’s more, he’s no longer a diabetic thanks to the new diet he started back in January.
After being diagnosed with Type II diabetes and sick of always looking fat on camera, the 44- waist- size actor felt he had to turn to a healthier lifestyle and start losing weight.
” It sucks being fat. […]I was sick of being fat on the camera. Really, I just got sick of it. Once I started losing weight, again, like once I started dropping a couple pant sizes, then it was easy ’cause once you see the results, then you don’t wanna stop,” says Carey.
The 52-year-old actor started by removing all carbs from his diet and drinking a lot of water, and nothing else but water.
“I have cheated a couple times, but basically no carbs, not even a cracker. No bread at all. No pizza, nothing. No corn, no beans, no starches of any kind.”
Carey’s diet includes egg whites or a Greek yogurt for breakfast and at dinner time he eats grilled chicken and steamed vegetables. If he feels like he needs a snack, he just eats fruits. When it comes to his workout routine, Carey exercises for at least 45 minutes a day.
“Lots of cardio. About 45 minutes of cardio, at least 45 minutes of cardio. I’ve been kind of lazy like lately, so I’m not doing it 6 days a week, but I will be for this next month,” he reveals.
Carey loves his thinner body so much that he’s motivated to keep going and lose another 10lbs. The comedian says he wants to look as great at the age of 86 as his “Price is Right” predecessor, Bob Barker.Celebrity Diets, Celebrity Weight Loss, Drew Carey
