Elaine Cassidy: Pre-Natal Diet and Exercise

Elaine Cassidy, the actress who starred in the CBS series Harper’s Island is now a glowing mom-to-be.  She is married to actor/producer Stephen Lord and this will be their first child that is due this fall.  Elaine is the cover girl for the magazine Fit Pregnancy this month and she gave a one-on-one interview sharing the ups and downs of her pregnancy.  When asked about her pre-natal diet she explained,
“I normally eat really healthy food, but I find it tougher to eat the foods I usually look forward to, such as fish and vegetables; it’s just taking more of an effort. I’m much more drawn to dairy and meat. I still enjoy fruit and I take a prenatal vitamin.”
Elaine does have cravings though and she mentioned that she wants foods from her childhood such as fresh orange juice, eggs, cheese and yogurt.  She also craves the traditional Irish breakfast which is a hearty helping of sausage, eggs, bacon, mushrooms, blood pudding, grilled tomatoes and hash browns!  That’s one big breakfast, but when you’re pregnant it’s all about portion control.
The native of the UK also mentioned that she is exercising while pregnant.  She said,
“I have been trying to get my walks in every day. It’s so much easier in Los Angeles than in Ireland and England, where it’s more likely to rain.”
