Erik Chopin’s Biggest Loser Weight Gain

by Betsy on Celebs on January 7, 2010

Erik Chopin was crowned the winner of Biggest Loser season 3 after losing 214 pounds. But six years later the New Yorker is getting close to his original weight before being on the show. He started off weighing 407 pounds, lost 214 pounds but now he’s back up to 368. He explained what happened,

“I came from such a high of winning then the reality sets in of not being on the show and not being accountable, then I went into the real world and it all started up again.”

He didn’t necessarily go back to eating a lot of junk or overeating, but he started to procrastinate, lost the drive and the accountability of being on a show and started to put the weight back on. Now, Discovery Health has produced his documentary, Confessions of a Reality Show Loser. When Erik saw that he was only 30 pounds from his beginning big weight of 407 pounds he got motivated and jumped into action. He said,

“I’ve thought about new ways of working out and what would excite me, like boxing.”

The documentary airs on Discovery Health on the 6th of January.

I can guarantee that his weight gain is due to eating junk food. That’s the main reason for the obesity crisis in this country and I highly doubt Erik is any different.
