We’re barely a month into the New Year and it seems many women have already cheated on the weight-loss resolutions and diets. A survey has revealed that 36% of female dieters are secretly cheating by either hiding the food they’re not suppose to eat or eating in the dark.
The poll by LighterLife surveyed 2 000 women between the ages of 16 and 35, and found that more than 15% cheated on their diets on a weekly basis while 10% cheated every 2 to 3 days. When it came to temptations, 40% said if their partner were eating something delicious in front of them they would cheat on their diet, while 25% said eating in a restaurant was their weakness.
“If you are trying to help a wife or girlfriend lose weight, keep a close eye on them around 11am and 3pm, which emerged as the peak secret snacking time,” a spokesperson for LighterLife told The Daily Mail.
After cheating, 51% said they had lied about what they had eaten while 36% had actually thrown out food to stop themselves from eating it. All the women surveyed said they had tried to lose weight an average of 8 times!
If you’ve fallen off the wagon, may these numbers be both a warning and inspiration to get back on your New Year diet.
