Hilary Duff Diet and Workout

Hilary Duff, newly single from Joel Madden of Good Charlotte, reveals her dieting struggles in the latest issue of Us Weekly. She developed unhealthy eating habits, loading up on junk food and leading to her much publicized weight gain at age 15. “I used to eat chicken fingers, french fries, and ice cream all the time.”

Hilary became Scary Skinny
Driven by media scrutiny, she become “obsessed,” following a strict protein and vegetable diet. She recalls “you stress out about being in a bathing suit.” Hilary lost weight only to have the media speculate that she was too skinny. “Everybody speculates that you’re not eating or are doing drugs. You’re damned if you do, and you’re dammed if you don’t” she says.

Hilary Duff Diet Plan
Her diet consists of greens, fresh fruit and lean protein.

Breakfast- Kashi cereal with 2 percent milk (or an egg-white omelet with Feta cheese) and a latte made with 2 percent milk.
Lunch - Grilled chicken Caesar salad with 1 tablespoon of reduced-fat dressing (or grilled ahi tuna salad with balsamic vinaigrette dressing)
Dinner – Tuna steak, grilled veges and couscous (she also loves sushi)
Snack – Handful of mixed nuts (or an apple and Brie cheese) She also indulges in chips and salsa.

Hilary was a former gymnast and says she had a tendency to bulk up with exercise. “I couldn’t just go to the gym like my friends and lift weights. I would get these muscles in my legs. I felt boyish.” Her solution to developing long lean muscles is Pilates workouts with Viveca Jensen of LA’s V Pilates.

Pilates – At home she does hour long workouts on Pilates reformer machines 4 times a week. She concentrates on her lower body with 32 reps each of 20 different leg and butt exercises and 5 different ab exercises.
Swimming – While touring she swims, alternating 7 laps each of freestyle, breast, butterfly and sidestroke daily.

Celebrity Diet Doctor Weigh in
Ditching the junk food for a strict greens and protein diet she lost too much weight. She also hints that her exercise may have been excessive during this period when she weighed an estimated 100 lbs on a 5 foot 2 inch frame. She’s since added a variety of veggies and fruits to her diet and looks great at a healthy 109 lbs. Hilary sums it up best, “I’m in a really good place.”

I would sooo love to have that body,,I HATE mine,,I actually had Bulimia and it´s not completely gone out of my brain. But I still think I´m fat everytime I look in the mirror even though everybody says I look great,,I really wish I could belive them,,:/ But I mean she used to be too skinny but now she really looks PERFECT !! I think its great that seh is open about the fact that she almost went too far, so many celebrities make out that losing so much weight was accidental and normal!!

She looks amazing now and her diet sounds good although i cant help but be slightly sceptical about her lack of carbs!?

i wonder how much of that picture is photo shopped…i mean ive always that that hillary duff was so pretty no matter what, and it really sounds like she is very healthy and on the right track, but it still makes me wonder….

She looks great. It's great to see a girl in her 20s willing to admit that it can become an obsession and that she kind of had to catch herself. So many women over do it and then act like "o yeah this is natural" blah blah blah… Which sends a horrible message to teenage girls.

She looks amazing :) I'm actually planning on eating the way she did to get to my weight goal!! My goal is to go down atleast to 100 pounds, so I need 15 pounds to lose :D I know I can do it because if Hilary can do this ANY girl can!! Great Job Hilary, you are beautiful as always.

At least 100?!?! Are you freaking insane? Obviously hil's message flew right over your head. The right tng is to realise when to stop, not keep going till you're invisible and I'll, she looks so much betters with a curvier and toned physique instead of the emaciated look which made her look like a kid really.
Thanks for trying to raise young girls impresses of what the healthy way to be in good shape is Hilary :)

For girls who put on weight while lifting weights, you can try yoga as well instead of pilates.

I think Madonna uses an awesome yoga style.

i thought if you eat less..you gain weight since your body is not used to it?..

but hilary's body is PERFECT.

im going to try what she is doing..& hopefully mines will be PERFECT too. :)

im 120 lbs. i gained 20 lbs ever since i moved to california..SOO MUCH GOOOD FOOD HERE! haha. but i hope by doin what she's doin, ill be back to 100 lbs :)
