It's important to keep your workouts interesting, that way you will be more likely to stick with you current workout routine. Many people lose focus and end up giving up on working out, because they get bored of the same, tired old routine. Keep your workout fun and interesting and you may just surprise yourself and finally master a healthy new lifestyle.

Too much animal protein is the problem. You'll get more than enough protein from beans. In fact you only need about 10% of calories to come from protein and this is easily achieved even on a vegan diet of vegetables, beans, grains, nuts, and seeds.

You are assuming that if she is on a 2000 calorie diet, that consuming 600 calories (67g) of animal protein is a no-no. The problem is you have to eat lots of beans in order to achieve enough daily protein. One cup of garbanzo, for instance, yields 15g of protein. If beans are her only dietary source of protein, she will need to eat at least 4 cups of beans per day. Ouch!
