Jennifer Garner Promotes Healthy Eating for Children

Jennifer Garner is the new spokesperson for Save the Children’s “Make Time for CHANGE” campaign. CHANGE (Creating Healthy, Active, and Nurturing Growing-up Environments) is a program that helps develop healthier lifestyles for children living in poverty by offering them resources for healthy eating and exercise habits.
Garner said that growing up in West Virginia she knows it is one state that has struggled and they could use the support of this campaign in their local schools. She also mentioned that now that she is a mother she realizes that all moms, regardless of their income, want the best for their children. Likewise, it’s important to take time to help these moms and kids who may need the financial support.
As for her own family, Garner admits to sneaking veggies into some of daughter Violet’s food in order to pump up the nutrient value. She said,
“One healthy snack that I love to make at home is a smoothie with spinach,” Garner tells PEOPLE. “You use a banana, a bunch of mango and a huge handfuls of spinach so it’s green. But it tastes like mango and banana and the kids are really, really into the color. They also don’t taste the spinach at all.”
Jennifer co-stars along side Ricky Gervais, Rob Lowe and Tina Fey in the movie, The Invention of Lying, which will be in theaters on October 2nd.
