Jessica Alba’s Diet and Workout

In this recent shoot for GQ, Jessica Alba appears to be in top form as she gears up for the filming of Sin City 2 this summer. Her diet secret is “portion control” says her trainer in the latest issue of In Touch weekly, and “she knows how to keep her eating habits under control.” “She likes to have dinner out, but will only eat half of the food on the plate.”
In addition to a balanced diet, Jessica also watches her carbs, leaving bread and desserts off the menu. But she doesn’t deprive herself when she gets a particular craving “You need to indulge and have that chocolate cake whenever you feel the need.”
Jessica Alba’s Diet Plan
It’s a South Beach style diet, with lean meats, whole grains, low-fat cheeses, fruits and veggies.
- Breakfast
1 cup oatmeal with berries with 3-4 scrambled egg whites when working on the film set.
- Lunch
Salad with 170 gms (6 ounces) of chicken breast or fish (salmon, tuna)
- Dinner
Sashimi or or 170 gms (6 ounces) of petit filet of beef or other lean protein with unlimited veggies and 3 small red potatoes
- Snacks
handful of almonds or hot air popped popcorn
Jessica Alba’s Work Out
Jessica’s is big on exercise with lots of cardio on the elliptical, stationary bike or treadmill for 30 minutes four times a week. She adds resistant-training including weights and yoga to tone up for her action roles in films.

i really want to loose weight! can someone please tell me quick easy ways of doing this, without doing much excercise. are there any foods that can be cut out to loose weight???? the last few days my diet has been: for brekkie i have 2 weetbix with full cream milk, white coffee with one sugar, and maybe a piece of fruit. then i either eat a mid morning snack or lunch, which is fruit. then dinner is whatever mum cooks. usually a piece of meat or rice or pasta and always with vegies. helllp! x

hey b! Ok weetabix is good, but have skimmed milk not full fat milk. And avoid sugar in your coffee, and definately don’t put sweetners. NEVER eat sweetners. Not only do they cause all sorts of health problems, but they also make your put on weight cos they make your body crave sweet things more. Plus they trick your body into thinking sugar has entered the body so your body produces insulin anyway which then gets stored as fat! Try honey or brown sugar if you must have it sweet.
It’s good to snack on fruit but make sure you don’t take too much fruit- can prove fattning with all the fruit sugars. You should have lunch instead- have a salad with some grilled chicken or prawns or fish something. fish is good- omega 3 for your brain and helps keeps the metobolism up!
Your dinner sounds good but avoid pasta and rice! Have brown pasta and brown rice if you must- atleat that has some nutritional value (fibre), rather than just pure carbs, which turn into fat if you eat late at night.
Preferably, if you can then have a lighter dinner and a heavier lunch…so the brown rice for lunch for example….and no carbs for dinner….this will also keep you full and energised for the afternoon.
Also – you should excercise! It’s the key! You might not like it now, but you will learn to love it! Becomes addictive! and sure you can always find time in the day- if it means waking up half an hour earlier then do it! best excercise- jogging for 25 minutes…..also do about 200 sit ups.
good luck!

thanks zoe. coz im only 18 and am still at school & live with mum its hard to choose wat i eat, especially when mum cooks dinner which is always white rice. i have 2 younger brothers who wouldnt eat brown rice (they dont even eat brown bread) so it makes it a bit difficult. and bcoz im still in school its hard to make a lunch with rice or prawns or a salad. usually i get home from school at about 2 oclock, and i might make something like a homemade pizza on a lite tortilla with a little bit of cheese, some cherry tomatos and baby spinach. and pizza base sauce. if not that, a cheese and tomato toasted sandwhich on multigrain bread, or maybe a avacado and tuna sandwhich on multigrain bread, or blt (bacon lettuce tomato) with avacado on turkish bread. and now that its coming to the colder seasons iv been eating tinned soup a bit- curried vegetable! are these ideas ok? also sometimes i eat sushi for lunch! i love it, i probably eat it about once a week if im lucky. i never eat white bread only on the occassion and only if its fresh from the bakery. although i have stopped eating bread abit lately because of the carbs. i used to eat toast for brekkie but switched to weetbix is that a better option? also ive been cooking dinner abit lately and im really getting into stirfrys, curries, stuff like that! i made a great one the other day and it was just chicken and vegies – no rice or noodles! anyone else got any tips???? x

I’ve read that jessica alba says that most of the people in her family are overweight, so her genes have very lil to do with her figure. I would say that it has a whole lot more to do with the pressures of hollywood and her desire to be successful. She clearly has to work very very very hard to get her body to look like that. but to have the money and help on hand tht she does would be help and if we all had access to dietitions, personal trainers, personal chefs etc etc then i guess that just about anyone could look like that. she obviously is a very pretty girl with a lovely face but if she just relaxed and ate like the average person, i can guarentee that her body would not be anything like it looks in that picture.

Seriously, I’ll give it to you straight… I can be big and i can be as small as Jessica Alba… All i do is have a serving of protein every meal, some fruit, vegies, some dairy, run every morning for 6 km then after work i hit up the gym with a mix of weights… I’m no pansy and weights can never make a woman big unless she is not burning the calories therefore fat stays on top of the muscle and gives the appearance of getting larger… concentrating on my shoulders to even out my bigger hips… then another 20-30 of intervals on the x-trainer/ tready… Their is nothing unhealthy about Alba… She is beautiful and disciplines herself… If u stay on a good role for long enough you can probably incorporate a cheat meal in once a week… Exercise produces endorphins and endorphins make u happy… Good on her! Invest in a personal trainer and a good nutritionist if you have a few spare dollars… it took me 3 weeks to whip myself into gear… although i had done the pre-work… Good Luck
P.S Genetics are curable diseases… My mum is a big lady with a thyroid problem… I was a big girl aswell… but with a bit of determination… anything is possible… You have to truly want it though… xxoo
you cant say shes skinny but she is not fat .she is in shape. but her legs are a bit fat. she should make more exercise
i lost 10 punds in a month replacing bread and sugar and cheese and meet and specially all fried foods with fruits and vegetables and milk.now i whant to became a vegetarian but my parent wont let me. by the way i have16 years and aproximatlly 63-65 kg. im sorry for my writing mistakes but im not american:D
her legs are a bit fat?? what are you talking about? she’s definatley skinny but has shape which is hot. bean pole legs are not hot they look like a teenage boys legs yuck why would you want the physique of a skinny teenage boy. Shapely legs and hips are hot they make you look like a real woman wether your slim or a bit chubby and thats hot.
If i had to choose between chubby with shape or skinny and straight up and down and boney i’d choose shape any day.
you really need to get your head checked out if you think her legs are even a bit fat you obviously have a very unrealistic opinion of womens bodies and thinking like that can actually be a medically certified disease not only that but it can poison the minds of others when you judge people with those irrational thoughts. i hope you dont openly judge the people in your life like that.

yikes.
she looks ghastly, if you notice well: the tight outfit is making her waist bulge a bit.
Her diet is good though, no question.
She needs to increase the intensity of her workout I mean she is so beautiful, she can do much more.
