Jillian Michaels’ Produce Tips

Twitter seems to be the latest way celebrity trainers share their tips to a healthier lifestyle with us ordinary folk. Super trainer on hit TV show The Biggest Loser, Jillian Michaels, last night tweeted her tips on how to choose a good lettuce at the supermarket.
While working on her new nutrition book, Jillian asked her followers if they had any healthy-cooking tips they’d like to share, then she shared her own too.
“Don’t buy your produce pre-cut. The air oxidizes the food faster and depletes its nutrients. Betcha didn’t know that. And now… back to work.”
The 35-year-old reality TV trainer later tweeted that it’s fine to buy frozen produce, but when it comes to lettuce, always pick from the top of the pile. According to Jillian’s chef Dr La Puma, the lights in the supermarket help boost the nutrients in the leaves.
