Jodie Sweetin Diet and Weight Loss


Jodie Sweetin, all grown up from her child role as Stephanie Tanner on Full House, reveals her secrets losing weight after the birth to now 5 month old Zoe. It’s a far cry from her crystal meth addiction that she licked back in 2006. There seems like there is run on post baby diet weight loss in Hollywood lately. Previously I reported on Jessica Alba, Brooke Burke, and Melissa Joan Heart. So how did Jodie Sweetin lose 45 pounds since giving birth in April?

Jodie reveals she did NutriSystem which made her more conscious about portion control. She says

“Now I crave veggies and salads, where I really didn’t before. I find myself making much healthier choices and eating smaller portions, like you are supposed to.”

As part of her slim down, she avoids fast food but does sneak in the occasional Meximelt from Taco Bell “only once every few weeks.” She also indulges in a hot fudge Sundae but split it with friends. For her it’s “three bites and be done.”

Jodie is currently 129 pounds and would like to lose another 5 pounds. She says after her baby that her body responds differently and is more inclined to gain weight with food.

Jodi had a C section which kept her from training for six weeks since “I couldn’t cough sneeze or laugh without feeling like my insides were going to come out.” She has been working out since with trainer, Joshua Love. For her abs, she enjoys planks… she hate lunges but admits “they work.”

Her Top Five Diet Tips are:

1. Portion Control
2. Cut down on Junk Food
3. Cut back on dessert
4. Work out with a partner. In addition to working out with her trainer she also has buddy up’ed with her husband and slimmed down together. He’s lost an impressive 37 pounds!
5. Conscious Eating. Jodie is now more aware of what she eats and is making healthier choices like salads and veggies.

Jodie is getting right back to work and will be starring in her first movie Port City.

My take…
The key here is to limit processed foods such as junk food and bulk up on unprocessed foods such as veggies. NutriSystem, as regular readers of this blog already know, is highly processed. This will make dieting very difficult because you need to have strict portion control. The NutriSystem mention is probably just an endorsement deal plug.. so she’s obligated to mention it. But the underlying theme of her slim down is to cut back on junk food, desserts and bulk up on veggies. There you have it. The key to slimming down and getting rid of the post baby weight!
