Julia Louis-Dreyfus: Exercise and Workout

Julia Louis-Dreyfus won our hearts back in the day when she played the role of ‘Elaine’ on Seinfeld. Now, the 48-year-old-actress is still a hit, has her own show, The New Adventures of Old Christine, and she looks amazing! Julia sports her rock-hard abs on the cover of the April issue of Shape Magazine and she told the magazine how she stays fit without resorting to plastic surgery and other invasive techniques. For Julia, it all starts with breakfast. She said,
“It’s hard for me to eat in the morning…..But I recently discovered something I love: two eggs fried in olive oil and a slice of whole-wheat toast with honey. It tastes so good, and I don’t get crazy-hungry before lunch—that’s when I start to make bad food choices. I’ve found the key to healthy eating is finding foods you really like. That way you don’t feel ripped off when you can’t have a fattening doughnut or whatever you’re craving.”
She went on to say that she does have at least one big salad a day in order to get her daily dose of veggies. Surprisingly, she revealed that she’s just like the rest of us, and she too gets special cravings:
“I have a huge sweet tooth, and I feel like I deserve a treat when I work hard. It’s important to give yourself a little of what you really want so you don’t feel like you’re in food prison. Eating in moderation keeps me sane.”
For Julia’s workouts, she said she tries to exercise three to five times a weeks. She’ll do indoor workouts in front of the television while on her elliptical at home and will some days take her exercise outside.
“There’s something about the ritual of moving forward along a trail, pausing every now and then to look at the view or smell a flower. It’s a physical escape as well as a mental one.”
