K-Fed Blames Britney Spears For Weight Gain

by Betsy on Celebs on April 1, 2010

Kevin Federline, the former husband of Britney Spears, is currently a contestant on the hit show, Celebrity Fit Club. He’s slowly but surely getting back to his former self but it took divorce and depression to get him back on track. This week, while speaking with talk show host Bonni Hunt he confesses that after his marriage failed with the pop star he fell into depression and became a couch potato. He explained,

“I hit 30 years old, I stopped dancing, I hadn’t been dancing for years, I started eating, I’m sitting around on the couch playing with the kids here and there, getting lazier and lazier and getting fatter and fatter and fatter.”

The 32-year-old said that he got to a point where he was drinking up to 24 cans of ‘fizzy drinks’ every day. We can assume he’s talking about sodas which run 150 calories a can, so 24 cans is 3,600 calories a day! That’s not even counting all of the food he liked to eat such as pizza and macaroni and cheese.

But now with the help of his trainer Chris Cormier he’s melting off the pounds. Chris has put him on a high-protein diet and has restricted him to foods such as egg whites, salmon, chicken and steamed veggies. Chris said,

“I put Kevin on a diet plan that consists of eating six meals a day, every three hours,” he said. “It speeds up your body’s metabolism and you start burning fat fast.”

Hats off to Kevin for putting himself back together both mentally and physically.
