What I wouldn’t give to be able to enjoy a stick of chocolate and a cappuccino without the calories. It seems my prayers have been answered by Professor David Edwards at Harvard University who has created Le Whif – an aerosol stick that sprays zero-calorie flavored particles.
“Le Whif first offered the taste of chocolate without the calories, and now it offers the kick of coffee without the cup,” says the professor.
ELe Whif stick sprays 100 milligrams of flavor and can deliver up to nine sprays, all depending on how hard you inhale. The sticks come in the flavors pure chocolate, raspberry chocolate, mint chocolate and coffee, and are also biodegradable and oganic.
Le Whif makes use of particle engineering. The chocolate is formed from particle sizes that are small enough to be airborne but are too big to enter the lungs or form fat cells, hence zero calories. The chocolate powder comes wrapped in sausage-shaped plastic bags, and users simply slip them inside the aerosol dispenser.
