Maria Menounos Supports Weight Watchers

The Today Show and Access Hollywood correspondent Maria Menounos lost 40 pounds after college and these days the super fit journalist is all about healthy eating and exercise. Likewise, she teamed up with Weight Watchers and Jenny McCarthy this past week to help support the Lose for Good campaign; a fundraising initiative that fights hunger for locally and globally. Menounos told Ok Magazine,
“I was disappointed at different times when I tried clothes on and they didn’t fit. When I lost the weight, I was happy and proud of myself because I knew it was a big accomplishment. And I knew I wanted to be in this business and it wasn’t healthy.”
She also said that since her father is a diabetic she knows that there is a high chance that she too will get the disease so she made the decision to stay as healthy as she could. She’s obviously passionate about the Lose for Good Program as she explained that last year the Weight Watcher members lost 4 million pounds which resulted in the company donating $1 million to Share Our Strength and Action Against Hunger. She explained,
“And, for every pound you lose, you bring in a pound of food to your meetings, which then goes to food drives in your local area.”
