Maria Menounos: Workout Tips

The Today Show and Access Hollywood correspondent Maria Menounos has one hot body. She is careful about what she eats and is sure to exercise. In a recent interview she gave some simple advice that she learned from celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak on how to stay fit: Exercise 30 minutes a day. She explained,

“He [Pasternak] finally reached me, and I had that moment where it completely made sense in my brain, and every day – I wake up a half-hour earlier, I go to the gym or I go to my backyard and workout. I do anything I can in half-an-hour. When the half-hour’s up, I’m done.”

When she does her 30-minute morning walks she will use a treadmill set at an incline at 4.3. During that time she will increase the incline to 5.5 and try to run for 5 to 10 minutes. She will also do interval training where she’ll run as fast as she can for a minute and then hit the floor for leg-based Pilates, lunges, squats and abs work.

Maria suggests to those trying to lose weight to stick to the 30-minute minimum workout plan no matter what. She said,

“If you look at it like Harley taught me to look at it, ‘It’s just 30 minutes a day. You can do it. Don’t try to go overboard; don’t try to be a hero and do more. Just do 30 minutes.’ You can wrap your head around that. It’s such a big deal for me because I’ve been doing it consistently for over a month now.”

In the past month Maria lost five pounds thanks to her new workout plan and she’s feeling better than ever. Sometimes just a little bit can make a big difference in attitude.
