Marie Osmond:Weight Loss and Diet

Marie Osmond has been dancing off the pounds as a contestant on the hit ABC show Dancing with the Stars. At age 48 and the mother of eight children she is dancing up a storm with six hour practices! She revealed that she joined the show not so much to develop her dancing skills but to diet and lose weight. So far she’s peeled 3 inches off her waist. She’s taking the show all in stride and she isn’t worried about being voted off.. she quips that “25 million viewers will vote and 22 million are Osmonds!”
Marie Osmond: Diet
Marie is big on salads and veggies. She also says she’s using Nutrisystem. Marie puts her weight struggle in perspective “You know every chick’s on a diet!” and jokes that the show should be called “Dancing with the Starved.”
Celebrity Diet Doctor Weigh In…
It appears like Nutrisystem has found success by hiring contestants on Dancing with the Stars to plug their weight loss system. Joey Fatone was last year’s Nutrisystem pitchman and he lost a reported 40 lbs on the show. Marie shouldn’t feel like she’s starving however. She needs to up her intake of low calorie foods to curb hunger and keep her metabolism up. With six hour practices she’s a calorie burning Diva, chewing up about 1500 calories per session! Marie’s looking great and we’ll be voting for her along with the other 22 million Osmonds!

Marie,
Seeing you on Dancing with the Stars was the only thing that kept me going. I separated from my husband of 20 years last December and had to leave my 3 children with him (all teenagers) I left because my mom died in 2006 and I promised her that if my marriage wasn’t better than I would leave my husband. Right now our finances are so bad that I am worried we will have to file bankruptcy or I may have to live out of my van. My 14 year old daughter & I have each gained gained over 60 lbs over the past 2 years. I feel that I have failed my daughter and would love for us to go on NutriSystems but I cannot justify the expense. Can you help us in any way. I am 47 and spent all of my childhood pretending I was you. I under under the care of a doctor for depression, but I don’t know if I can hold on for the next 4 years which would allow my daughter to graduate from high school. If you can’t help me, please help her.
Hi Marie,
I recently had contacted nutrisystem to see if they might afford my daughter and myself of a free plan to lose our weight we are needing to lose. I’m sure you hear sob stories everyday but she and I cannot at this time in our lives afford the plan. She has Reuhmatoid Arthritis and desparately needs to lose some weight and I don’t want her dependent on some type of drug to lose the weight. Her RA would be better and her ego would be better and she would be more able to have the energy to enjoy her family more and be more fit. She works out on an eliptical machine but that can only do so much and she does watch what she eats but isn’t having any luck and I was wondering if you might be able to get this program plan free for her to lose the weight. It would mean so much to me, her mother, to see her feel better about herself. She says often I will just be fat the rest of my life and she is only 39 and I really hurt for her when she says things like that and know that her self-esteem is very very low. Her name is Julie Galyan and if you can help we would so much appreciate it. She doesn’t even know I am contacting you on this and would not want any handouts – but I feel it would be such a blessing for her to have a chance to lose this weight!!!
Thanks Marie for listening to this plea and I hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks againk!!!!!
Marie, I see your nutrisystem commercials and I also saw you on Dancing with the Stars. You did well, but, I know that dancing so many hours everyday will make anyone lose weight. You make it seem that your weight loss is totally contributed to the nutrisystem weightloss program and that’s not true. Everybody loses weight on Dancing with the Stars, you can’t help it. I just wish you would say that you lost most of your weight because you were training vigorously and learning all those beautiful dances for the show. Your commercial with nutrisystem doesn’t seem honest to me.
responding to Valeda: Why would you take time out of life to try to change someone else’s response to how THEY lost weight. How would you know anything about Marie Osmond’s weight loss? Amazing, are you trying to suggest lying on her part? You know she was excercising but the food intake is more than half the battle. Everyone who advertises a weight loss program adds exercise to it…that’s how a person loses weight in a positive way. Wow, negativity…you might want to work on that one and respond only to how you do things and not to the ones you haven’t a clue about. Take Care
