Mario Lopez’s “Extra Lean” Diet Book Released.

Former Saved by the Bell hunk and Extra news reporter Mario Lopez has been one of the nation’s heartthrobs since the early 90s. His hot Latino charm and fit build has girls melting everywhere. He has recently released a new book Extra Lean: The Fat-Burning Plan That Changes the Way You Eat For Life to help men and women lose weight without doing extreme dieting and exercising. He explained,

“This isn’t a diet book. Diets don’t work. This book explains why you shouldn’t be scared or guilty about having food. The only exercise I focus on in the book is when to push away from the table. If you really want to lose weight, it’s all about food.”

According to Mario a person could lose up to 14 pounds in 14 days by following his plan because it educates people about food and how to not be scared of it. He has even tried the plan out on his fellow employees at Extra. He divided them up into two teams and after one month the winning team will be treated to a big cheat meal dinner.

Mario’s partner Courtney is pregnant with their first child. As he is preparing to be a new dad he’s also considering writing another book for first-time dads. It appears that Mario is switching from actor to author in a matter of months!

So thats what happened to Mario Lopez after all those years! Looks like he's in great shape – Anyone read his book yet?

I was watching Mario on Wendy Williams morning show. he looks great and i will like to really like to be in better shape.

I bought the book. I like it, it is healthy, but I am confused whether these meals he has listed are interchangeable or you have to follow them to the T. I hate salmon or much fish at all, so can I swap out? I don't know, it doesn't say. Are these men's portions or women's portions? I don't know. It doesn't seem to give much info as far as, do you have to eat the whole portion, can you swap an orange for a tangerine or do you have to eat something you hate? I believe in eating all food groups but it says "eat the foods you love, and I don't see much lee-way on this food plan. Thanks.

I say this with love….

Quit complaining and just eat it. You are looking at food the wrong way. Food is fuel. As long as you're not allergic, eat it. You only have to do it for 14 days. If you don't see results, stop. I bet, however, that you will end up losing weight, having more energy, and feeling more empowered over the food because you are taking control over the things you put in your mouth instead of feeling like it controls you. Plus, you'll probably find that the food is not that bad. It only takes a few exposures to new foods for a person to begin to adapt. Try it. (And no, I do not work for the book.)

If you want to change everything in your life, change your attitude!

I know one of Mario's fellow employees that was part of the weight challenge. She lost weight and was able to follow the plan while still on vacation. Now with the new year I am going to try it. My reasoning for wanting to try this book, is because I don't want to diet, I want to learn about food and how it works with my body. I don't want to diet, stop and then have to do it again. I want to stay healthy!

I bought this book when I saw Mario on the Doctors show. I was 142 when I got married. After having our first child, I was unable to get the weight off. This left me at 178. Then we decided to have our second child, and the doctor warned me that I could only gain 17 pounds. A week before delivery, I weighed in at 192 and am not sure what the ending weight was. I breastfed my baby girl, but I was far from getting into the size 14 I wore before. My husband and I started this diet, because what I read just made since. 6 months later, my husband went from 198 to 169. He is 6'2". I went from 192 to 151. I am 5'6". I encourage all to grab this book. I read tosca reno's book, eat clean diet. It sounded a little extreme for me, but I did take away that 80% of what we look like is from nutrition. So, I just followed the eating plan alone to lose this weight. No rigorous workout, just active life. Hope this helps.
