Marisa Tomei Hula-Hoops

Marisa Tomei loves to hula hoop. The Oscar-nominated actress, who showed off her hooping moves on the Ellen DeGeneres show earlier this year (see video below), became addicted to the hooping workouts when she had to get in shape for the movie The Wrestler. Marisa played a stripper and although she wasn’t in too bad shape at the time, the exercise routines helped her move her body in new, sexy ways.
According to Us Weekly magazine, the 44-year-old actress used a weighted Hoopnotica hula hoop. It’s best to use a weighted hula-hoop as it makes the exercises easier to do by keeping the hoop spinning for longer. And the longer the hoop spins, the longer you work out, the more calories you burn, the more muscles you tone and the more fun you have. While hooping can help improve your posture, it’s been reported that one hour of hooping could burn as much as 600 calories.
Hula-hooping may seem like child’s play, but we recommend you get yourself a hooping DVD or join a hooping class to help you perfect the right moves that target specific areas of your body.
Other celebrity hula-hoop lovers include Liv Tyler and First Lady Michelle Obama.
