Maureen McCormick: 50 Pound Weight Loss

by Betsy on Celebs on June 12, 2010

Brady Bunch star Maureen McCormick is looking great these days after years of struggling with bulimia, cocaine addiction and the death of her mother in 2004. When she participated in the reality show Celebrity Fit Club back in 2007 she lost 30 pounds, but she then gained it all back and even more and got up to 161 pounds. Over the past 10 months she has been dedicated to diet and exercise and has lost a whopping 50 pounds. She said,

“Last summer. I truly looked like I had totally let myself go. It’s been a really long, slow, but very natural and healthy journey.”

Maureen admits there is a lot of pressure to be thin in Hollywood but she has gained new self-confidence and she sees all women as beautiful no matter their size. She has even turned down botox when a dermatologist suggested she get some injections. She was too scared and didn’t want to do it. These days she feels much more confident than she was back in the days when she starred as Marcia Brady on the Brady Bunch. She explained,

“It’s a different type of confidence. I’ve never known this kind of happiness. You really can do anything you put your mind to in life!”
