Michael Jackson’s Diet

As the weeks go by those who are trying to cash in on Michael Jackson’s legacy are slowly crawling out of the woodwork. This week’s revelations were interesting for us because it was Jackson’s nutritionist and also personal chef who has spoken out about the singer’s dietary habits.
His personal chef, Kai Chase has been working at Jackson’s home since March of this year and she said that the focus of the family was on healthy living. She explained that as Jackson was preparing for his comeback tour he had fruit drinks and granola for breakfast each morning and at lunch time with his kids he would have something healthy like chicken and spinach salad. Dinner would include a seared tuna steak. Chase plans on publishing a cookbook that focuses on her time with the family; an idea which Jackson encouraged.
On the other hand, his nutritionist Cherilyn Lee tells the story a bit differently. She worked with him from January through April of this year and she said that the King of Pop followed a liquid, juice-based diet. She recalled of meeting him,
“He said, ‘Well, you know I’m feeling tired. I’m getting ready for the concerts. I would love to have as much energy as possible, so what can I do with my diet and nutrition?’ ”
Lee put him on the juice and smoothie diet to help meet his dietary needs and right before she left he added granola to his regime. She told E! News,
“He loved trail mix. And once a month he had to have fried chicken. His whole thing was that he didn’t really want to eat food.”
