Nancy O’Dell’s Running Workout

Nancy O’Dell has been the co-host of the tabloid news show, Access Hollywood, since 1996. During her recent interview with Runner’s Magazine she opened up about how she has stayed fit after all of these years of constantly being in front of the camera. She said that it was interviewing other actresses that pressured her to do a lot of running because she was always standing next to fit celebrities. She especially took up running because it’s the fastest way to lose weight since you can burn up calories quickly. She told Runner’s Magazine,

“For me running has always been the easy way if I wanted to lose five pounds in a couple of weeks. Running has been the only thing and the quickest thing that works for me. So, I really started running when I came to LA, that would have been back in 1996 when I started with Access—and I was having to stand next to all these Hollywood celebrities. And then I was running consistently.”

As for her running schedule she used to run 30 to 45 minutes, three days a week. But over the past year, with a pregnancy and other family commitments she had put on weight and had to do something about it. Now, she has increased her running time,

“I’ve been running five days a week now straight for about 3 months and I’ve already lost 12 pounds. That was nice. I do it now five days a week, probably 45 minutes per run. It’s tough to try to fit it all in. But it makes you feel so much better and I enjoy it.”
