Octomom’s Slim Down: Workout & Diet

Earlier this year we reported on Nadya Suleman’s weight-loss after giving birth to 8 babies in January. In September she was spotted in her local park working out on a yoga mat with dumb bells and an exercise ball, but it seems the mother of 8 has now lost 145 pounds and trimmed 39 inches off her waist. How? By hitting the gym at midnight.
Nadya joined a local gym and while her babies are asleep, she slips away to work on her body. While the nanny watches the sleeping kids, Nadya visits her gym 3 times a week for 90 minutes. The single mother, who admits that she lost her previous post-baby weight pretty easily because of her genes, has found that working off the new weight isn’t as easy as she thought it would be. Although Nadya instantly dropped 40 pounds simply by giving birth, it was the remaining 100 pounds she had to work extra hard on.
Because there’s no need for cardio (Nadya chases around her kids whole day), she concentrates on strength training by doing crunches, tricep kickbacks, bicep curls, shoulder presses and lunges with 12-pound weights. The 33-year-old won’t divulge what crunches she does because she’s hoping to release her own fitness DVD detailing her secrets.
When it comes to her diet, Nadya only has 5 protein-based meals a day which include turkey, sushi, eggs and low fat cheese, as well as whole grains and vegetables.
