One Big Happy Family Weight Loss Reality Show
Americans can’t seem to get enough of reality shows that expose morbidly obese people. There’s Biggest Loser where we watch them go through painful workouts and challenges. Or for those who like DWTS, there’s Dance Your Ass Off, a show where contestants wear outfits that are way too small for their large frames and they dance their way to a healthy weight. Then there’s Ruby, one of the heaviest women in US history who gets her very own show as she tries to lose weight because if not she’s going to die.
Let’s not forget the celebrities who also cash in on weight loss. There’s Celebrity Fit Club where the likes of Kevin Federline sweats in front of the camera and the failed Jenny Craig spokesperson Kirsty Alley is currently filming her own reality show where viewers will watch her as she will most likely moan about going to the gym and dramatize her temptation to reach in the freezer and grab a pint of ice cream.
There’s now a new show to add to the weight loss reality world, One Big Happy Family. The show follows the Cole family in North Carolina. There’s mom Tameka, dad Norris and the kids Amber and Shayne who each weigh more than 300 pounds who have all decided to get healthy after the doctor told them they are all borderline diabetic. Good for them for trying to lose the weight but the weight loss reality show formula is old news and I’ll be glad to see the day when these shows have lost their following.
