Oprah Winfrey’s Weight Gain

Oprah Winfrey, an inspiration for women around the globe, still struggles with her roller coaster weight gains and losses. It seems just like yesterday when we saw her at a healthy 160 pounds in 2006. But once again, Oprah has put on weight and she confessed in the January issue of her “O Magazine” that she has gained 20 pounds over the past couple of years and she now weighs 200 pounds. This weight, combined with her height, gave her a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 31.8 and according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention this is considered not just overweight, but obese.
Fortunately, she has already taken action and in the same month she confessed her weight gain issues in her magazine she launched a new program on her television show called “Best Life.” With “Best Life,” participants on her website and on her show receive expert advice on all aspects of leading a healthy lifestyle. She addresses a wide array of issues such as healthy eating, exercise, as well as mental and spiritual health.
