Padma Lakshmi: Pre-Natal Exercise

Last week, the host of Top Chef, Padma Lakshmi revealed that she is pregnant with her first child. Having struggled with endometreosis in the past the 39-year-old is excited to be pregnant. But this long-legged foodie isn’t about to lose her figure. In particular, she plans on keeping those long and shapely legs of hers even though her belly will be expanding. Recently she said that in her line of work where she’s always eating delicious food on set she spends a lot of time on the treadmill to make up for all of the calories even if it’s a bit boring.
She also gave some insight into her daily workout. She explained,
“If I get to the gym at 9am, it’s not busy, but if you get there at 10am, it is. If it’s a light day, I stay 45 minutes. If it’s a leg day, it’s more like two hours. I do squats, I do lunges — I work every part of my body below my belly button.”
Before Lakshmi was pregnant she had told the New York Times that she doesn’t drink alcohol nor does she eat red meat, candy or cheese in order to squeeze into her form-fitting outfits. Now that she’s expecting a child we can guess she’ll continue on with that particular regime.
