President Obama on Health

President Obama is on the cover for the October issue of Men’s Health Magazine. As the leader of the US, he knows that healthy eating and exercising is vital when it comes to having a healthy heart and setting a good example for fellow Americans. Over the past few months President Obama has talked a lot about health reform as he strives to make quality health care something feasible for everyone, regardless of social class or income. He said,
“Even when I was a community organizer – I was paid $13,000 a year – I benefited from the fact that the guy who hired me insisted that I get health care as part of the package.”
Although the President was in his mid-20s at the time and felt ‘immortal’ like most people do at that age, he used the money given to him for his health care instead of using it to pay the rent since the gentleman who hired him saw it as a necessity. These days, the President obviously has a good health care package, but he still works out six days a week but admits that’s a bit much. He said,
“My blood pressure is pretty low, and I tend to be a healthy eater. So I probably could get away with cutting [my workouts] back a little bit,” he says. “The main reason I do it is just to clear my head and relieve me of stress.”
