
The Queen has done it. Yes, Queen Latifah shed 20 pounds since joining the Jenny Craig diet program in January and she’s reached her goal weight. The 5’10″ Queen Latifah had approached 240 pounds at her heaviest and reveals she is happiest at the 195 to 215 pound range: “I don’t want to be skinny.” For Queen Latifah it was all about getting healthier.
“I had read that if you lost 5 percent of your body weight, you could cut your chances of things like heart disease in half. Jenny Craig mentioned the same statistic to me, so we connected on a health level.”
She reveals what has worked for her with the Jenny program, “I haven’t had to sacrifice anything that I normally eat, I just eat a little bit less of it.”
The singer-actress also hit the gym five to seven days a week, alternating workouts on the treadmill or elliptical machine for an hour.

Congrats are in order for Queen Latifah. Although I wouldn’t recommend Jenny Craig as a weight loss plan. Jenny Craig will only work if you practice portion control as Queen Latifah reveals. Practicing portion control with a weight loss plan full of refined sugars is going to be hard to stick to for a number of reasons:
- refined carbs fuel hunger and cravings
- refined carbs slow down your metabolism to a greater extent when you cut calories
Kirstie Alley was not so fortunate and manage to gain back a lot of weight on the Jenny Plan.. Not suprisingly she no longer is a spokesperson for Jenny Craig. Hopefully the Queen can maintain her success. Best of luck!
