Queen Latifah lost over 20 pounds a few years ago while on Jenny Craig and she has successfully kept the weight off. Stars like Kirsty Alley haven’t been so lucky but Queen Latifah has done it by watching what she eats in terms of content and portion size. She told People Magazine,
“I don’t really diet. I kind of keep everything in moderation, exercise and eat right. I eat a lot of vegetables and lean meats, and I drink a whole lot of water.”
The star turns 40 in March but she’s not too worried about it as she’s one who follows the philosophy that you’re only as old as you feel and she said she feels young at heart. She does however have regrets about not losing weight earlier in life. She said,
“I wish I had known more about nutrition and exercise and how really good it could affect you at a younger age. Then I would have kicked it up a lot sooner.”
Overtime the actress has learned some valuable life lessons and these days she’s healthy, fit and happy with her body.
