It’s time for Rachel Ray to go easy on the EVOO! As predicted, it didn’t take long to hear that Rachel Ray’s weight gain has motivated her to start a diet. The Food Network star with the mega-watt energizer bunny personality has steadily been gaining weight and now tips the scale at 155 lbs according to Star Magazine.
Allegedly Rachel is not happy about her recent weight gain telling a source:
“She told me, I can’t believe how heavy I look. She’s always been proud of her backside, but she said her arms look flabby and her legs looked like tree stumps!”
Rachel Ray: Diet Plan
Rachel’s plan is to lose 15 lbs before she starts re-shooting her Rachel Ray Show in late August, and another 15 lbs by October.
“She’s trying out recipes that keep calories in mind. She’s been cutting way down on fat and carbs. She’s fashioning her own diet and taking notes to see what’s working, so she can pass it along on her show.”
Celebrity Diet Doctor Weigh in
Her love of calorie-laden comfort foods and her slowing metabolism have finally caught up with her. Notorious for not dieting and never making it to the gym, Rachel has come to the realization she’s gonna start looking like Paula Deen if she doesn’t make some serious changes in her diet. Stay tuned for some healthier and more calorie-friendly recipes on her show this fall. Btw, Rachel you can start your diet by ditching the Dunkin Donuts iced coffee in your hand!

Although she does look a bit heavy in the photo above, I would say she doesn’t need to lose that much weight. She is super-bubbly on her show and I hope dieting doesn’t make her crabby!
Rachel is a great lady and I love watching her show mainly because of her personality. She is beautiful!
I love her show and have not noticed any weight gain. i did notice that she was happier after she got married and she began to glow. She is great!
Paula Deen knows that she is overweight but she is still a very pretty lady. Not everybody has to be a size 2. My ex mother in law wears a size 2 and weighs about 90 lbs. She also found out that she has high cholesterol. I am overweight and my cholesterol is perfect. I also workout and have been trying to lose weight. She NEVER works out and smokes about 2 packs of cigerettes a day. But atleast she is skinny, RIGHT!!!!
I don’t think Rachel looks overweight at all in this picture.
She is overweight and overworked. I appreciate her energy and enjoyment for what she is doing, but when I look at her all I see is someone who needs a little time to herself. She needs a weight and stress management plan.
I think its pathetic that people’s weight is scrutinized. Who cares if she gains weight. There’s such hypocricy, when someone looks like they gained 5lbs, the press attacks them, and all they talk about is dieting. It’s better to be healthy and comfortable with weightgain, instead of trying to starve yourself to meet a certain standard. People should stop focusing on minor weight issues, and worry about things that actually matter…
I think it’s from all the booze I hear she drinks…maybe she won’t look so “Joker-like” now from Batman. I just wish she’d go away. Is that so wrong?
I have seen her show and although she tries too hard sometimes to be funny (she is but she over does it sometimes) she’s a great lady and shows us 6-10 size women that it is okay to be different from all those anorexic type of celebraties we have nowadays. Yes she does look a bit “chubbier” in her show lately but OMG she does NOT look overweight in this picture at all!!

Rachel is gaining weight, but so what? EVOO is a good fat, one that has health benefits. If Rachel needs to cut down on anything, it’s her carbs. She uses lean meat and lots of fresh veggies, and good fats which is great, but she does use a lot of comfort foods, aka starchy, empty carbs. As stated in many of the posts, she is no where near FAT and if her jeans were just a tad bit looser, no one would even think she was chubby. She is marvelous and I love her recipes.
by the way, who the hell is dr. marc? is he some quack or just a homo wannabe? geez!
L think Rachel is great. She is so happy all the time ( of course she has to be on t.v. but I think she really is ). Her recipes are great…sometimes on the fattening side but a little replacing with other ingredients and they can come out not too fattening. They are also great because they are so quick to make. I think Rachel looks great…so she has gained a couple of pounds…so what. At least she doesn’t look like she is starving to death like some other celebrities.
Hello, Rachael’s weight goes up and down. What happen to the great weight loss from the ACAI diet that she and Oprah backed. God I just ordered it maybe I will cancel. Hope it’s not another $$$ for their pocket. Don’t get me wrong, I do like Rachael Ray.
@Theresa -
did you really order that product? i would love to hear what it does for you and your progress!!
i dont see what the dig deal is about rach’s weight, if she is happy with herself then so be it, she does do alot of cooking and i’m sure she taste tests alot of what she makes!
I am so sick of people and this whole weight thing. I know people who are thinner then I am and they have health issues, and I exercise but my issues are due to surgical issues. As long as someone is happy, healthy and does not have health issues then who cares! I am Italian, my grandparents eat pasta everyday, but they also had vegies and EVOO everyday. We had soups in the winter, salads in the summer. That is the northern Italy. I am not about to give up my pasta or EVOO just because some smuck dr says it is not good! I do not eat out, semi vegetaian, very little meat, and we are very good on the vegies. We love to walk our dogs, and work out on the Wii Fit and Sports. So, let it go, dr you are not one I am going to listen to, let them have oil oil!
Actually, if she is 155 at 5′3″ (which frankly I think is being generous) that would give her a body mass index of 27.5, officially considered overweight and less than 3 points away from officially obese.
Not that I especially care one way or the other, but after all the lies she’s told about how “healthy” and “figure friendly” her food is, this is poetic justice.
What she should do is ditch her cookbooks and use Ellie Krieger’s.
I think Rachael is Beautiful — just the way she is…
